Long Term Care Nurse Responsibilities & Duties

• Monitor and record patients' health status and vital signs.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

• Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.

• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.

• Conduct regular health assessments and update care plans as needed.

• Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care.

Long Term Care Nurse Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

• Advanced certification in gerontological nursing or long-term care.

• Previous experience working in a long-term care facility.

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Experience in nursing, preferably in long-term care or geriatrics.

• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.

• Strong observational and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
